Dean Martin, previously a foreman at Van’s Lumber & Custom Builders, has been promoted to job coordinator.
Martin began his successful career at Madison Area Technical College, where he took a variety of construction classes, and started working at Van’s in 1987. During his time as foreman, Martin primarily worked on commercial buildings in Door County such as Cooper’s Corner and Door Peninsula Winery. With 29 years at Van’s, Martin has continued to work his way up and gain experience.
Working in construction for almost three decades, Martin anticipates some changes with this new opportunity at Van’s. “I look forward to transitioning from construction worker to semi-office worker, and being able to go on the job and help the crew from start to finish,” Martin shared.
He appreciates that Van’s continues to treat everyone like family— especially his own with two of his sons working with him. “As a family-oriented business, you know you’re not just a number to them. They really focus on making you feel like family and taking care of you,” Martin said. Residing near Dyckesville, Martin enjoys motorcycle riding, spending time with his wife Mary and four children, and kayaking and fishing at their cabin in Crivitz, WI.
