Julie Joniaux retired from Van’s Lumber & Custom Builders after 33 years, on July 1, 2024. Julie started at Van’s on June 6, 1991, working in the Accounting Department of the Van’s Office. Beginning in 2000, a position was created for Julie to assist Mark Porath and all the other salesman in quoting and ordering the windows and doors for all their projects, which was a huge help.
Over the years, Julie proved herself invaluable for all the knowledge she amassed about the ever-changing window and door products, keeping everyone up to date on changes and new offerings. She was essential in maintaining the large showroom at Van’s to showcase the various products we offer.
Julie loves spending her spare time with her family, her husband Chris, who also works at Van’s, their children, grandchildren, and her sisters and mom. She enjoys spending time in her garden, whether by herself, or with her little helpers and is looking forward to being able to spend more time doing so in her retirement. She is very active in the choir at her church and enjoys spending summers watching her grandson play baseball. Julie also loves taking her annual trip with her family up north.
What a great employee with extreme organizational skills who had not only her normal duties, but the task of keeping our staff on track. She even got to the point where she could recognize our handwriting. Julie is a great person, great friend and always had a big smile that brightened up our office. We will miss you!
